Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel in Moshi, the starting point for Kilimanjaro adventures. Later in the evening, you’ll have a meeting with your mountain guide for a full briefing and equipment check. The rest of the day is yours to relax, rehydrate, and get mentally prepared for the climb. Overnight stay in Moshi.

After breakfast, transfer to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park, where your trek officially begins. Here, you’ll meet your armed ranger, who will accompany you for safety as you walk through wildlife-rich terrain.
The trail meanders through open grasslands and lush rainforest, offering opportunities to spot giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, and monkeys. Along the way, you’ll pass beautiful waterfalls, giant fig trees, and breathtaking forest scenery before arriving at Miriakamba Hut.
The camp sits in a serene setting with panoramic views of Mount Meru’s horseshoe crater. Enjoy a warm dinner and rest as you prepare for the next day’s ascent.

After breakfast, begin a steady and steep ascent through the montane forest, gradually transitioning into the moorland zone. The trail zigzags up to Mgongo wa Tembo (Elephant’s Back), offering magnificent views of the Meru Crater and Ash Cone.
You’ll arrive at Saddle Hut, beautifully located between Little Meru and the summit ridge. After lunch, take a short acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m), where you’ll enjoy a stunning sunset over Mount Kilimanjaro.
Return to camp, have an early dinner, and get a good night’s rest in preparation for your summit push early the next morning.

Begin your summit attempt around 1:30 AM, ascending the rugged ridge under the stars toward Rhino Point (3,800m) and Cobra Point (4,350m). The final stretch to Socialist Peak (4,566m) is steep and challenging, but the reward is extraordinary: a breathtaking sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro and the glowing Meru Crater below.
After celebrating your summit, descend carefully back to Saddle Hut for a well-earned breakfast. Continue your descent through Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Arusha.
Arrive at your hotel for a hot shower, warm meal, and well-deserved rest after conquering Tanzania’s second-highest peak.
